A fire broke out at the Ping Zhongdian Cable Bridge in Long Ping, Yuen Long last Tuesday night (21st), resulting in a power outage in Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun districts, affecting about 160,000 residents and complaining.

Although CLP carried out emergency power deployment and emergency repairs afterwards, the power supply was gradually restored the next morning, but a week later, until today (29th) at 8 pm, there was a sudden power outage at the Quan Shui Building, Shui Pian Wai Village, Yuen Long, and it was pitch black all around. It stopped working at one point.

The House Village Management Office sent a staff to check that the meter house was "jumping" in the meter and was being handled.

The power outage occurred at the Chunshui Building in Shuibianwei Village, and the subsequent buildings were not affected.

The incident happened at 8 o'clock tonight. The entire building of Quan Shui Building suffered a sudden power outage, and all units were completely dark, except for the lobby and floor corridors to maintain limited lighting.

During this period, the elevators in the building were also temporarily out of power supply and stopped working. The administrators fenced off the elevators to prevent residents from using the trapped elevators.

After the incident, the management dispatched personnel to the scene to check the power supply, and the police also attended the scene to investigate.

According to the on-site information, the personnel initially checked that it was suspected that the "jump switch" of the building's meter room was out of power, causing power outages in the building's units.

CLP responded to the inquiry of "Hong Kong 01" and stated that after inspection, it was confirmed that the power supply was normal, and it was suspected that there was a problem with the power system of the building itself.

During the power outage, many residents felt inconvenience, and some even went downstairs to enjoy the shade because there was no air-conditioning in their home.

Ms. Liu, a resident of Kowloon district, came back to Yuen Long from Kowloon to visit her father, who lives alone in Chun Shui House, after learning of the power outage in Shui Pian Wai Village tonight.

She pointed out that the phone line with her father was suddenly disconnected earlier. Because his father was in a wheelchair, he was inconvenient to move around and had a heart attack. He was worried that his father would not be taken care of due to the power outage, so she went home even after a long journey to check if his father was well.
