Fraudsters have stolen 44,000 euros with so-called phishing e-mails in the past few days.

The perpetrators intervened in private banking transactions.

District

– As reported by the criminal police, a 58-year-old woman from Germeringer tried to register on her bank's website on Friday.

Her computer crashed.

Shortly thereafter, the woman received a text message telling her that a customer advisor would get in touch with her.

In fact, an alleged bank employee reported.

This explained that a TAN would be requested via the bank's app in a few minutes.

In good faith, the 58-year-old followed these instructions.

As a result, she found that 19,000 euros had been debited from her account.

The injured party immediately informed an employee of her bank by telephone, who arranged for the account to be blocked and the amount to be reversed.

According to the police, it is not known whether the chargeback was successful.

Another scam occurred on Saturday afternoon.

Here it hit a 20-year-old from Puchheim, who lost around 25,000 euros.

The perpetrator made contact with the young woman via a website that was deceptively modeled on the website of a bank and pretended to be a bank employee.

After he had the link to update the push TAN and other personal data sent to him, the scammer finally gained access to the 20-year-old's account.

The suspect changed the password and made two transfers to a German account.
