Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi discussed during their meeting today on the sidelines of the Caspian Sea Summit in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat, the strategic relations of cooperation between the two countries.
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted Putin as saying: "He discussed with my president security issues and the situation in Syria, pointing to the depth of strategic relations between Moscow and Tehran and their continuous interaction on many political issues."
Putin noted the growth of trade between the two countries last year and in the first months of this year.
The Russian and Iranian presidents participated today in the Caspian Sea Summit, which concluded today in Ashgabat.
