The chairman of the World Likud and former Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, announced today (Thursday) that he will run in the upcoming primaries for the Likud list for the Knesset.
Danon served for five years as Israel's Ambassador to the UN and as Vice President of the UN General Assembly.
In June 2016, he was precedent-settingly elected to the UN Judiciary Committee.
Prior to that, he served as Minister of Science, Deputy Minister of Defense and Likud MK.
Danny Danon said of his return to politics: "After years of working for the State of Israel in the international arena, it is time to return to working in the national arena. For five years I fought for the State of Israel in the UN corridors, now it is time to contribute to national camp victory.

"The State of Israel is in a constant political turmoil and the time has come to stop it. Only a strong and large Likud can form a national right-wing government that will lead to political stability. In the next Knesset, I will be your ambassador to the Likud and the Knesset. "
