The Russian Foreign Ministry reiterated that civilian areas of Ukraine are not targets of strikes by Russian forces during the special military operation to protect Donbass.
"Our forces, together with the forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, are systematically implementing all the tasks set for the liberation of Donbass, the demilitarization of Ukraine and the elimination of threats emanating from its territory to Russia," Alexey Bolchuk, director of the Second CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti news agency. He stressed that civilian areas and the civilian population of Ukraine are not targets of strikes or targeting.
Bolchuk indicated that what was targeted in Kremenchug were weapons depots imported from the West, and not a shopping center.
Yesterday, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, denied that the Russian army had struck a shopping center in Kremenchug, stressing that what was targeted were weapons depots from the West. Ukrainian forces that were located in the Kremenchug depots, which contain weapons from the United States and European countries.
