At the final PK of the G7 summit in Elmau, Olaf Scholz caused a laugh.

When asked about political results, he shut up and countered with amusement.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen - The heads of government discussed common world politics at the G7 summit in Elmau.

Of course, the main focus was on the escalating Ukraine conflict and how the G7 will continue to act against Russia.

The USA and Olaf Scholz himself presented many details at the final PK.

But not everything should obviously come directly to the public.

G7 final PK: Olaf Scholz makes for laughs

The Chancellor made that more than clear at the press conference on Tuesday.

A journalist asked Scholz about the security guarantees for Ukraine that the country wanted to give.

And obviously these were also a topic of conversation for Scholz, Biden, Macron and the other heads of state at the G7 summit in Elmau.

But Scholz didn't want to look at the cards here and made for an amusing scene.

The question was: "Could you specify the security guarantees for Ukraine".

The Chancellor answered succinctly: "Yes".

After a long pause he added: "I could do that".

Then silence again and a mischievous smile from the Chancellor, with which he showed: There won't be any more.

Laughter in the group of journalists followed.

The press officer of the Kanzler-PK then skilfully resolved the scene and went on to the next question with a simple “OK”.
