The Arab Music Ensemble of the Arab Institute of Music in Tartous concluded the activities of the Tartous Forum

Kamal Badran, Director of Culture, indicated that the activities of the Forum in its fourth session were characterized by the diversity and richness of cultural activities that were presented in order to harmonize the Arab and oriental musical compositions with Western orchestras and choirs with local folklore and traditional songs through artistic concerts in addition to cultural seminars.
During the past few days, the forum witnessed various concerts hosted by the halls of the cultural centers in Safita, Baniyas and Sheikh Badr, which met with a public presence. The artist Lina Mihoub and her orchestra composed of 26 members of young people and children performed a concert at the Cultural Center in Sheikh Badr, in which a group of patriotic songs and muwashshahs were presented in both languages. Arabic and English, in addition to individual songs and various musical pieces.
In Baniyas’ cultural, artist Kamal Hamid presented a group of songs from several governorates representing their popular heritage, such as “Welcome to you, Yawali - Yamal al-Sham - Send me an answer - I saw you, I swear, on the eagle is rising, the beloved of your heart called me - twenty years.”
In the hall of the Cultural Center in the city of Safita, a varied artistic concert was held, which was performed by the Ninar Musical Band, with the participation of approximately 60 musicians and players of various instruments.
In addition to the concerts, the two halls of the Cultural Center in Banias and Safita witnessed a two-day lecture given by music researcher Jamal Awad, which came under the title “The Bee’s Way – Renewal in the Forms of Arabic Singing for the Rahbani Brothers,” which focused on diversity in musical compositions and presenting the suggestive image through the formation of the musical sentence. Choosing the most appropriate tone for it and formulating it within a music template that simulates the visual image of the song.
Awwad, a specialist in studies and musical composition about 15 years ago from the “Karam Lulu” series, chose the song “Way of the Bees” by Mrs. Fairouz to highlight its melodic, distributive and lyrical details and clarify it with science and musical logic with an explanation accompanied by listening to that song in the form of fragmented clips to explain those details. He said in a special statement to Sana: “His choice of this song is because it is characterized by what he called the musical shot and the mold in which it was presented so that we can see that bee as if it is already in front of us.”
