At least 51 immigrants suffocated to death inside a truck discovered on Monday June 27 in San Antonio (Texas).
They traveled without water or food, crammed into extreme heat and covered in a condiment to outwit police dogs.
The authorities are identifying the victims (39 men and 12 women) in cooperation with Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras, where they came from.
There are also a dozen wounded, who with their stories are making it possible to reconstruct the tragedy.
The driver, Homero Zamorano, 45, was arrested on the run;
the coyotes had cloned the plates of another similar truck to transport grain.

In the audio of the call that alerted the police to the discovery of the abandoned truck, a brief description of the scene in the abandoned trailer is heard.
"It seems that some of them have already passed away," says a policeman.
When they arrived at the scene, officers found the doors open.
The truck did not have air conditioning, so the immigrants had to endure extreme temperatures, in the midst of a heat wave in the area.

It left 51 dead: 39 men and 12 women.
The first data indicates that more than 20 were from Mexico.
In addition, four Hondurans were identified on Tuesday.
The driver, Homero Zamorano, 45, was arrested Monday fleeing the scene of the crime.
Migrants traveled overcrowded without water or food with high temperatures.
They had meat seasoning on the skin to fool police dogs.
The tragedy reminded others that have happened recently.
The use of trucks to transport migrants is not something new, but this case was fatal.
The Joe Biden government accused the coyotes of "exploiting" migrants and promised to persecute them.
The used truck was “cloned” from another similar vehicle that was used to transport grain.
