Tourist facilities from the public and private sectors continue to repair the damage caused by the storm that hit Latakia Governorate last Saturday, while the work of the facilities where the damage was limited continues.

The Minister of Tourism, Eng. Mohamed Rami Martini, confirmed during his inspection and the Governor of Lattakia, Eng. Amer Ismail Hilal, a number of tourist facilities that the tour came under a government directive from the Prime Minister to inspect the damages in tourist facilities at various levels of classification.

Martini pointed out that the storm was severe and unprecedented, and the damages in various aspects of tourism activity are limited and vary according to the nature of the region and its impact on the storm, including governmental and international facilities, including those affiliated with the Ministry of Tourism, accommodation facilities, parks and popular tourism, stressing that the government focus is on simple, small and seasonal facilities invested to serve popular tourism and do not Especially that the large facilities have insurance contracts and the damages were simple.

Martini said: Some facilities have completed the repair procedures and continued investing, and there was no breakdown, while some seasonal facilities need a few days to return to investment, noting that the situation is promising and reservations during the Eid season have reached one hundred percent.

He indicated that the Tourism Directorate, in cooperation with Latakia Governorate, the city council and administrative units, is counting the damage caused by the storm, and we will look for tools to provide facilities to investors in small and seasonal establishments.

Governor Hilal indicated that the governorate worked immediately after the storm to mobilize all concerned parties from civil defense, firefighting, institutions and service bodies, and supported them with mechanisms and cadres from construction companies and distributed them to the affected axes, which worked initially to reopen roads and gradually restore services according to priorities.

Hilal indicated that the governorate, and through its directorates, is counting the damage in various agricultural, industrial, tourism and infrastructure fields, noting the voluntary efforts and the activities of the local and civil society that work with the rest of the institutions to remove the effects of the storm.
