A man has been causing discord in Wessobrunn for several years.

He currently lives in a community shelter and bullies those around him.

A solution is now being sought.

Wessobrunn –

There are now some in Wessobrunn who curse the day the man came to their village.

At that time he asked about a place to stay for a few weeks on a farm.

A farming family offered him a small apartment for rent.

He agreed and stayed – for several years.

Without paying rent.

Every attempt to persuade him to move out failed.

The man was asked to leave, he was told to leave, lawyers were hired.

He stayed.

Community prevents homelessness - man moves to emergency shelter

Finally, after several years in which the uninvited guest didn't pay a cent in rent and made life hell for the family, a bailiff managed to get the man off the farm with the help of a bailiff.

But that didn't solve the problem, it just shifted it.

As Wessobrunn Mayor Georg Guggemos says, the municipality must take action in such a case so that homelessness can be prevented.

"The municipality is responsible for public safety and order and must provide emergency accommodation in such a case," explains the mayor.

Homelessness is a threat to public safety and order.

The municipality of Wessobrunn has provided emergency accommodation, where the man has been housed for around a year and a half.

At first everything was peaceful, says Sabine Gerg, who lives with her family in a house opposite the emergency shelter.

Sabine Gerg is a specialist, she works with the homeless and initially gave the new neighbor a friendly welcome, brought him a cake and offered him help.

Neighbor bullies family: Police come almost every day

Then spring came and the Gergs spent more time outdoors, had the windows open more often, and worked in the garden.

Suddenly the police rang their bell, says Sabine Gerg.

The man across the street alerted them because he felt bothered by the noise.

Since then, visits by the police have been part of the family's everyday life, as Sabine Gerg explains: the other day she turned on the radio while cleaning the windows.

It took two or three songs and the police were at the door.

"It is a disaster.

We have no life left.” The man called the police because her family laughed or talked too loud for his liking because he was disturbed by music or the sound of doormats being beaten.

Even if she and her family are rooted in Wessobrunn, some fellow citizens are now suspicious: "People ask me what the police are doing here all the time," says the woman from Wessobrunn.

All attempts to talk to the man and clarify the situation were blocked by him.

Once one of her three sons was pushed by him in such a way that he injured his shoulder.

At every barbecue evening, every family celebration, and all repair work, there is always the anxious question of whether and when the police will show up.

Man in emergency shelter tyrannizes neighborhood: Off for the kindergarten soccer field

He could not say anything about the specific case in Wessobrunn, according to the deputy head of the Weilheim Police Inspectorate, Boris Netschajew.

But he could confirm that the police had already gone to Wessobrunn because there had been complaints.

If he or his colleagues notice that "the same person is calling about all kinds of rubbish, then we will curb our enthusiasm," says Nechayev.

The police cannot be abused.

Disturbance is basically an administrative offense to which the police must react – even if it is only a matter of suspicion: “First of all, we will insist that the two parties solve the problem themselves.” If a solution is not possible, it will be The police react “as soon as possible”, according to Nechayev.

As a rule, her neighbor makes films of Gergs, her property and her house, which he then sends to the police, says Sabine Gerg.

Members of the Gerg family aren't the only ones suffering from the man at the homeless shelter.

The accommodation is near the kindergarten.

There was a football field near his home until the man caused trouble.

"The gates were dismantled," says Gerg: "He's allowed to tyrannize everyone and nothing happens."

Difficult situation: The search for a solution continues

Although the man has been causing trouble in Wessobrunn for years, it is obviously difficult to accommodate him elsewhere.

Guggemos says he has been trying to find somewhere else to live outside of his community for some time.

So far, however, without success.

Although, according to information from the Bavarian Municipal Council, the municipality is no longer responsible, but the district, it is a difficult situation.

The municipality is in constant contact with the district office and the "Specialist Unit for the Prevention of Homelessness" in the district in order to find a solution to the problem.

The mayor said the work is ongoing.
