These are the highlights of the Bürgerfest in Unterhaching

Gingerbread hearts, good music and a great atmosphere await visitors to the Unterhaching Citizens' Festival.

The 48th Unterhachinger Bürgerfest will take place from July 8th to 17th in the local park.

These highlights await the visitors:

Unterhaching

- This year, after a two-year Corona break, the citizens' festival is under new management: With Lorenz Stiftl, an experienced Wiesn landlord is taking over the marquee operation.

“He and his family have a lot of experience running festival tents, and the Stiftls have been a fixture in Munich and the region for many years,” says Mayor Wolfgang Panzer.

"I am very happy about the new impulses that Lorenz Stiftl will bring to our festival."

To kick things off on Friday, July 18, the showmen's booths in Unterhaching's local park on Wallbergstrasse will open at 4 p.m.

Officially, the beer mugs only fill up after the tapping at 6 p.m. in the marquee.

The new landlord Lorenz Stiftl and his wife Christine, who have already gained a lot of experience with folk festivals in the surrounding area and run established restaurants such as a tavern on Munich's Marienplatz, in the 1860 stadium on Grünwalder Straße or in the sports park of FC Ingolstadt.

And a Oktoberfest tent.

Show band and model boat regatta

But the Unterhachinger Bürgerfest is not just about the beer supplied by the Augustiner brewery, but also about the supporting program with music, such as the show band “Dolce Vita” on the opening evening and community socializing.

On Saturday, July 9th, from 10 a.m., the Parkseeskipper model boat regatta is on the agenda.

At the same time, the MTB Isarcup will take place for young mountain bikers – the award ceremony will be at 1 p.m.

From 6.30 p.m. the “Alpencasanovas” from Moosach will be playing in the marquee.

Sunday (July 10th) starts at 9 a.m. with the traditional charity run “Run4 Trees”, before “Die Schmalzer” from the Bavarian Forest fills the marquee with sound from 4 p.m.

Senior afternoon and family day

Other items on the program at the festival are the senior citizens’ afternoon (July 11 from 2 p.m. with the “Bayern Hans”), the family day (July 12) with puppet theater and reduced prices for the rides in the afternoon or the “Youth Day” (July 14) under the motto "Everything in costume, that's a splendor".

At the "Day of Authorities, Companies and Clubs" on July 15, the beer mugs toast.

From the final day (July 17), the marquee opens at 11 a.m.
