Canadian police announced today that two gunmen were killed during an exchange of fire at a bank in the far western province of British Columbia.
"Two gunmen were killed and six police officers were wounded during an exchange of fire that took place near the Bank of Montreal in the province's city of Saanich," Reuters quoted a local police official as saying in a statement.
The police indicated that homes and businesses near the scene were evacuated due to the possibility of an explosive device in a car linked to the two suspects, with a heavy police presence in the area, without giving further details about the accident.
