The thermometer will once again climb very high this weekend.
Two weeks after a heat wave that caused historic temperatures, the heat is returning markedly in the coming days in the south-east of the country.
The arrival of this hot air mass will correspond to the first days of July and the first departures on vacation.
Many holidaymakers will be present in the areas concerned, mainly Var and Bouches-du-Rhône.
Locally over 35°C
From Saturday, temperatures exceed 30°C in these regions.
But it is especially from the following days that the values will be even higher.
On Sunday, the 35°C mark, which corresponds to very hot weather, should be reached inland in the Var and Bouches-du-Rhône.
It will be well over 30°C in Vaucluse and Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence, according to Météo France.

Next Monday, July 4, in the same areas, the thermometer could gain another degree or two.
It could be up to 36°C, or even a little more according to some weather models.

These very high temperatures during the day will go hand in hand with particularly hot nights.
The qualification of a heat wave concerning this episode will depend on its duration.
It is currently uncertain.
Its location could also overflow towards the Occitanie region in particular.
But there too the uncertainty remains depending on the models.

"It's excruciating": living in a tiny attic apartment in the heat wave
This upwelling of warm air in the southeast from the Sahara will compete with a mass of cooler air from northern Europe.
According to Météo-villes, after a decline in the first part of next week, the heat could quickly regain the upper hand from Wednesday 6. The outcome of this air mass conflict will determine whether the south of France will suffer a second episode of heatwave in a month.
