The next ten years should be a climate decade: Freising's district administrator appeals to the municipalities to take action themselves as quickly as possible.

Freising

– District Administrator Helmut Petz repeated his ardent appeal to proclaim the next ten years a “climate academy” at the mayor’s meeting on Tuesday.

Above all, the district and municipalities would now have to take action themselves - especially when designating priority areas for wind turbines.

This is the only way you can hold the scepter of action in your own hands.

"Otherwise we'll have to let others tell us what to do and how," warned Petz.

Ground-mounted PV systems: "Start now"

The reason for this appeal and the subsequent discussions was Petz's review of the district's climate conference on May 20th and 21st.

It has been shown that there is "a whole panopticon" of possibilities to achieve the climate change.

As far as the construction of new ground-mounted photovoltaic systems is concerned, one could, for example, "start immediately", says Petz, since the study project supervised by Professor Markus Reinke (HSWT), the results of which were recently presented, provides an ideal basis.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Above all, however, one must become "active" in the designation of priority areas for wind turbines, because everything indicates that the legislator now wants to take matters into their own hands and then the regional planning associations would have to determine such areas.

But if you have already created your own partial land use plan for the district by then, for example, the regional planning association will do a devil and become active itself.

"I'll put my hand in the fire for that," assured Petz.

And so you can keep the reins of action in your own hands.

Lots of plans ready in the drawer

Of course, Petz was aware that this undertaking would lead to trouble and disputes in the communities.

Example: Walls, where the BI against wind power invited to an event on July 10, as Attenkirchen Mayor Mathias Kern knew.

Mauern's mayor, Georg Kroyer, reported that "everything was badmouthed" at an earlier BI event.

Proponents and those who only thought about designating concentration areas were "silenced".

Paunzhausen's Mayor Johann Daniel emphasized that many communities have such ready-made plans in the drawer.

However, he doubts that the regional planning association is interested in this.

Susanne Hoyer, Mayoress of Langenbach and district chairwoman of the municipal council, referred to the declaration of intent by the district association that they wanted to develop and set up a concept for wind power in the district together and across the district.

The advantage: “So we can support each other against the resistance.

Then it won't hit the individual mayor so badly."

Daniel's comment that municipalities in the Ampertal and in the north have already partially met their target, but would then have to allow wind turbines and open-space PV systems "because the electricity is needed in the south", District Administrator Petz countered: "We are a district .

We all have to make it together.”
