Lengdorf

– Lengdorf mourns the popular firefighter Stefan König, who died unexpectedly at the age of only 45.

"The volunteer fire department in Lengdorf was his life, his second family," says commander Florian Bauer about his deputy.

It is particularly tragic that the fireman, who as a paramedic helped so many others himself, could not do anything for himself, says Bauer.

When first aid was given, the comrades were unable to bring the 45-year-old back to life.

König, who trained as an engine mechanic at the Erding Air Base and later worked for MTU Aero Engines AG, not only brought professional expertise to the fire service.

Since joining at the age of 17, he has shown great interest and presence.

"Stefan was always there for everything and everyone and never put himself in the foreground," Bauer praises the helpfulness and modesty of the deceased.

In many courses, König has trained as a machinist, breathing apparatus carrier, height rescuer and group leader.

His competence and conscientiousness did not go unnoticed, leading to König being elected vice-commander by his comrades in 2012.

Since then he has been committed to the construction of the new fire station, the efficient equipment of the vehicle fleet and the training of the comrades.

König was not only proud of the good image that the fire department gave, but also the youth work with children and youth groups was important to him.

According to Bauer, he always fulfilled his responsibilities perfectly.

"We are stunned," says the commander, describing the grief among the fire brigade comrades.

"We are losing a good comrade and engine of our fire brigade." The comrades' thoughts went to the parents and sister of the deceased.

"Dear Kine, rest in peace, mia will miss you," writes FFW Lengdorf on its Facebook page.
