Twelve teams from different regions of As-Suwayda competed in poetry competitions organized by the Revolutionary Youth Union branch today in cooperation with the Directorate of Education within the headquarters of the Educational Training and Rehabilitation Center in the city.

A member of the leadership of the Revolutionary Youth Union branch, head of the Office of Preparation and Youth Skills Development, Haneen Al-Kuntar, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the competition specializes in vertical poetry and aims to develop and refine youth talents and enhance their interest in literary aspects and the Arabic language, noting that it witnessed the participation of three age groups for the stages of basic and secondary education. and post-secondary under the supervision of a committee of specialists.

The Dean of the Second College of Arts in As-Suwayda, Dr. Nayef Shukair, a member of the jury, stated in a similar statement that the competition focused on a set of criteria related to the safety of memorization, weight, rhyme, accidental safety, letter exits, promptness of intuition, presence, personality, and the nature of choices for poetic verses.

During their participation in the competition, 16-year-old Agheed Al-Aqbani said: “His love for reciting poetry prompted him to participate in the competition, which develops the spirit of competition and supports his interests in the Arabic language.” While the 17-year-old, Shahd Hamza, pointed out the importance of the competition in reminding current generations of the place of poetry in our lives.

The 12-year-old girl, Taj Al-Zaqout, considered that the competition supports her experience she had previously gained from participating in the Pioneers competition and winning it at the governorate level, while the young Taj Ezzo found a new experience in it, especially with encouragement she received from her uncle, the poet.
