The American authorities announced the killing of a patient by police in a hospital in Dallas, Texas, in the southern United States, on the pretext that he was carrying a pistol in the emergency room.
Dallas Police spokesman Robert Reeves said a nurse called police and reported a 34-year-old patient with a gun at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Irving. Police immediately responded and surrounded the armed patient, who opened fire, prompting police to respond. Likewise, they shot him dead.
Police added: No other people were injured in the incident.
It is not yet clear why that person was in the hospital or why he opened fire, pending investigations to find out the circumstances of the incident.
Shooting incidents are common in the United States with the spread of a culture of violence in American society and the right to own a single gun.
