A six-month-old baby girl was killed today (Thursday) after being forgotten in a car in Elad.

MDA staff who arrived at the scene evacuated her in critical condition to Schneider Hospital in Petah Tikva during resuscitation operations, where she was soon pronounced dead. The

baby was in the vehicle for about three hours. Around the vehicle.

"They brought us a baby who was unconscious with no pulse and no breathing, and was very warm to the touch after spending a long time in a closed vehicle.

" "Intensive care and we evacuated her to the hospital while continuing to perform resuscitation operations when her condition is critical."

According to data from the organization Before Child Safety, since the beginning of 2022, three children have died as a result of being trapped or forgotten in a vehicle.

In 2021, six children died as a result of forgetting or being trapped in a vehicle.

"Forgetting children in the car can happen to any and every one of us," said Orly Silvinger, executive director of the organization Before Child Safety.

Most often forgetfulness in a vehicle occurs due to getting out of the routine, overload, fatigue or distraction.

"In the Israeli summer, the temperature in a closed vehicle can reach 70 degrees, and quickly cause systems to collapse in infants and toddlers. Especially today, with the beginning of summer vacation I urge parents not to build on miracles and adopt safe behaviors - at the end of each trip open the back door. "Do not forget, call the spouse at the end of the trip or leave a vital object in the back seat. At the same time, a smart system must be installed to prevent forgetfulness in any vehicle in which children under the age of 4 travel. It is in our hands to prevent the next disaster."
