The work of the Australian-Syrian Business Council was launched today in Sydney, which aims to enhance economic cooperation with Syria in various fields, during a launch ceremony attended by many official figures, deputies and representatives of Australian parties.

During the ceremony, which was held in the town of Pinkston in the city of Sydney, Minister of Multiculturalism in New South Wales Mark Currie pointed to the effective contribution of the members of the Syrian-Australian Business Council on the economic, social and cultural levels in Australia and the successes achieved by the Syrian community in Australia during a few years in various fields. .

Corrie, who visited Syria before the war years, affirmed in his speech his ministry's support for this council and providing all means of assistance and facilities necessary for the council's work.

For his part, Shawkat Maslamani, a member of the Legislative Council in the state of New South Wales, praised the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of all conspiracies and war waged against their homeland, pointing out the importance of establishing the Council in order to serve the two countries.

In an exclusive statement to SANA, the council's chairman, Dr. Ali Jureya, considered that this ceremony is an official launch for the council's work, which seeks to develop and develop cooperation with the mother country, Syria, in various economic fields.

Jureya expressed his hope that the new council will have a counterpart from the Syrian side, in order to coordinate between the two councils with the aim of strengthening economic and commercial relations, establishing partnerships between businessmen from the two countries and contributing to reconstruction projects in Syria.

The Australian-Syrian Business Council was established at the end of last year and consists of a number of Australian businessmen of Syrian origin headed by Dr. Ali Jureya, Engineer Dhafer Aayek as Vice President, Dr. Muhannad Morsi as Secretary, Dr. Bashar Kahawati as Treasurer, and Dr. Ali Al-Ashi, Dr. Ammar Hamad, Loay Al-Rifai, Ali Ramadan and George Shahrestan Executive Members.
