A BMW suddenly catches fire.
The driver and first responders try to prevent a full fire with ten fire extinguishers - without success.
Bischofswiesen/Stanggaß - On Tuesday (June 28), a BMW caught fire on Berchtesgadener Strasse in Stanggaß around 1:20 p.m.
That writes the Bavarian Red Cross in a press release.

The driver (47) was able to park and leave his car, but he was unable to prevent a full fire even with the help of first responders and ten fire extinguishers.
According to the report, the BMW had already lost operating fluids over a distance of several kilometers.
At the entrance to Stanggaß, the 47-year-old was then made aware of smoke developing in his engine compartment by other road users.
Flames and smoke erupted from the BMW.

He drove from the main road onto a side road onto a company site, "whereby the engine compartment of his vehicle suddenly caught fire for reasons that have not yet been clarified," according to the BRK.

The arriving volunteer fire brigades from Bischofswiesen and Berchtesgaden finally managed to bring the fire under control.
They broke the hood and checked the interior for embers.
The BMW was a total write-off.
The Bischofswiesen and Berchtesgaden fire brigades were on site with 30 emergency services and four vehicles.
