Energy prices are rising and rising: This year, however, customers of the Tölzer Stadtwerke need not fear any increase in electricity and gas prices.

The thought of the next gas bill makes many people nervous.
For customers of Stadtwerke Bad Tölz, the prices will remain stable, at least this year.
Bad Tölz
– Rising energy prices are still the main topic in the news.
The most recent report by Stadtwerke München of a price increase in the natural gas sector of around 80 percent compared to the previous year also makes people in the region sit up and take notice.
For 2023, Stadtwerke customers will have to adjust to price increases
But the managing director of the Tölzer Stadtwerke, Walter Huber, reassures his customers: "We are currently not planning any price increases in the electricity and gas sectors for the current calendar year," he is quoted as saying in a press release.
Thanks to a long-term procurement strategy, the company is well positioned and can still cushion the price jumps on the market to some extent.
"The bottom line is of course that our business success for this year is reduced, but this was agreed with the supervisory board in the interests of our fellow citizens."
It is not yet possible to foresee what the coming year will bring in terms of additional burdens for individuals.
Huber: "Customers have to be prepared for an increase in both areas, but we are trying to keep the increases as moderate as possible."
Information about prices 2023 in autumn
Customers would be informed in good time in autumn about any changes from January 1, 2023, so that the greatest possible planning security for the new year could be given.
Huber also reassured customers on the current issue of the "gas emergency plan": "The alarm level declaration by the federal government does not mean that we currently have to fear a physical shortage of gas." There is currently enough gas and the supply from the public utility company is continuing as before.
“For us as a supplier, the alert level has so far only meant that government competencies are being transferred to authorities.
This means that not every single measure has to be decided in the big parliament and it enables more efficient action when making decisions.”
Contingency plan gas for private households without impact
Even if the next stage - the emergency plan - is announced, this will not mean any visible effects for all private households.
The state must act in such a way that the supply of "protected customers" such as private households and hospitals and so on is ensured.
