Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the European Union has lost its independence and is subject to US dictates and positions, and is suffering from sanctions against Russia.
During a press conference with his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei, Lavrov expressed concern about NATO's activity in the space of the former Soviet Union, stressing that "the European Union is now subject to the decisions imposed by the United States, including in the field of economic sanctions and the rejection of imports from Russia, but the sanctions reflect negatively on Europe and its goal." Weakening Russia and the European Union, the issue is not only weakening our countries, but they are also trying to weaken it.”
Lavrov stressed the determination of Russia and Belarus to continue to prevent the West's attempts to interfere in the affairs of the two countries, pointing out that the US biological military activity threatens the national security of both countries.
Lavrov made it clear that Russia and Belarus have not and will not close the doors to the West, but they will not trust it. Rather, they are making efforts to be independent from it.
For his part, Macki said: His country is under pressure through sanctions and economic contacts are cut off. However, "we have not implemented the idea of confrontation, but rather support dialogue, unlike what the West is doing."
