Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that some Western countries have begun to realize the impossibility of building a security structure without Russia and Belarus, and have begun to think about the future after the Ukrainian crisis.
Russia Today website quoted Lavrov as saying today during his meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, "There are more reasonable people in the West who have already begun to think beyond the end of the Ukrainian crisis," stressing that the truth is that it is not possible to build security without Russia and Belarus.
In turn, Lukashenko said that Minsk and Moscow have sufficient strength and means to deliver the necessary goods to Kaliningrad without any tension or fighting any wars.
Lukashenko added, "The West has already declared an economic war by closing the transit, and yet they keep shouting about the Swalski Pass, but we have with Russia enough strength and means to allow goods to be transported to Kaliningrad without any wars and tensions."
The Belarusian president criticized the policy of the Lithuanian authorities, pointing to their excessive enthusiasm for imposing restrictions on Russia and Belarus. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, confirmed in statements a few days ago that his country's response to the Lithuanian ban imposed on the transit of goods to the Kaliningrad province would be very harsh, while the deputy head of the Committee said International Affairs of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Vladimir Jabarov that Russia will not lose Kaliningrad and that attempts to separate it from Russia will lead to a military clash.
