Schleswig-Holstein's new Economics Minister Claus Ruhe Madsen (independent) wants to counter a possible energy crisis with drastic measures if necessary.
In the event of a gas shortage, industrial companies should be identified where the energy could be turned off, Madsen told the daily newspaper "Welt".
"In Denmark, for example, there is a list of 47 companies whose gas is cut off in an emergency in order to reduce gas consumption by 40 percent."
Berlin - That is the task of the Federal Network Agency, but would have to be closely coordinated with the federal states and the municipalities, said Madsen.
"We would certainly quickly form a crisis management team to face this special situation with open eyes - and not wait until it gets cold."
Madsen was reluctant to answer the question of whether he wanted to join Prime Minister Daniel Günther's (CDU) cabinet after his appointment.
"I haven't decided that yet.
To do this, the Schleswig-Holstein CDU and Claus Madsen must first get to know each other.” dpa
