The Starnberger See housing cooperative said goodbye to Gerd Weger, Gisela Martin and Hans Steinherr - a personal bloodletting.

Starnberg

– The Starnberger See housing association intends to complete the extensive modernization program it started in 2010 next year.

That's what CEO August Mehr said at the general meeting on Tuesday evening in the auditorium of Starnberg Middle School.

This year the properties at Uhdestraße 13 to 17 will be extensively renovated, next year the renovation of the underground car park for the properties at Ludwig-Thoma-Weg 4 and 6 is planned, explained Mehr.

Last year, the property at Uhdestraße 4 was essentially upgraded and the underground car park at the Bahnhofstraße property in Feldafing was extensively renovated.

Within 13 years, the cooperative then invested around 16 million euros in the stock.

"Our housing cooperative is well prepared for the next hundred years," said Mehr in his annual report.

100 years of volunteer work

The focus of the meeting, however, was a massive change in personnel.

With the longstanding chairman of the supervisory board Gerd Weger, his deputy Gisela Martin and the also longstanding member of the supervisory board Hans Steinherr, three influential personalities retired.

Long-time board member Hannelore Hartmann had already left in February.

The comrades now elected Heike Langner, the operations manager of the Starnberg seaside resort, Christian Herrmann, and the technical manager at the Association for Living, Wolfgang Robl, to the supervisory board.

Ludwig Jägerhuber was re-elected as scheduled.

Mayor Patrick Janik and Thomas Beigel complete the six-person supervisory board.

Michael Vossen moved to the board in March.

"In one fell swoop, the housing association loses almost exactly a hundred years of voluntary work and commitment," said CEO Mehr.

The departing members had a significant impact on an extremely successful era in the history of the housing cooperatives.

“On the other hand, a makeover is needed now and then.

The newly elected and remaining members of the Supervisory Board and Management Board now have to work even harder to compensate for the huge loss," he said.

Gerd Weger was a member of the supervisory board for more than 40 years.

The task gave him "a lot of joy and fun," he said.

Now he hopes that "cooperative commitment from the ranks of the members will also be maintained in the future".

The Starnberger See housing cooperative currently has 1,662 members and maintains a total of 36,573 square meters of housing, mainly in Starnberg, but also in Feldafing and Tutzing.

According to Mehrs, the cooperative was able to report a balance sheet profit of 202,000 euros for the past year, which enables the payment of a two percent dividend on the cooperative shares.
