If you shop at Rewe and forget your parking disc, you should actually get your fine refunded on presentation of the receipt.

However, Tagblatt readers report that this is not the case.

The behavior of the Parktimes company, which has been monitoring the parking lot on Freising's Kepserstraße for several months, continues to cause trouble.

Freising

– main point of criticism: The promise of the Parktimes management that you would get your fine refunded if you could prove by receipt that you were shopping in the Rewe market at the time in question was not kept. A few weeks ago, the daily newspaper had trouble reported in the parking lot.

Various motorists had complained about the Parktimes company by e-mail to the daily newspaper.

The company behaved uncooperatively and uncompromisingly demanded the penalty fee due.

At the time, company boss Okan Oguz denied that parking offenders were even given a grace period when they took over parking lot surveillance.

And anyone who can show a Rewe receipt for the period of parking (without a valid parking disc) will have their fine refunded.

Rita S. from Freising, however, had had completely different experiences: Parktimes had stubbornly refused reimbursement of the contractual penalty.

More complaints

Now other drivers have reported to the home newspaper, who are also flashed off with their receipt.

Karin G., for example, says she parked on Kepserstrasse on March 30 and paid for her extensive purchase at Rewe with an EC card at 10:20 a.m.

The receipt, which is available to the daily newspaper, documents this purchase.

Parktimes gave her a ticket at 10.08am because her parking disc was set incorrectly (at 11am).

After submitting the receipt, the penalty fee should have been refunded.

Karin G. therefore wrote to Parktimes: “You can see from the receipt that I was sent that I was shopping at the Rewe company at the time in question and therefore parked my vehicle legitimately in the Rewe company car park.

If you doubt the assignment of the receipt, the payment of the amount of 110.38 euros stated on the receipt can also be proven with an account statement.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Parktimes responded three days later.

However, the request for a refund was not accepted at all.

Instead, they asked “to comply with the payment deadline in order to avoid further costs”.

Karin G. remained stubborn and insisted in a further letter to Parktimes that the penalty fee be waived - also with reference to the information provided by the managing director to the Freisinger Tagblatt.

And again Parktimes replied: "Cancellation is not possible in this case".

Big annoyance

Niklas S. from Freising, who parked on March 28th - at the time when Parktimes, according to the management, still wants to have granted the parking offenders a grace period, is also deeply upset.

"A few days ago, however, I received the bill from the company Parktimes, which demands 39 euros," he reports.

Now he has contacted Parktimes and also submitted the appropriate Rewe bill.

"But the company doesn't respond to this one bit and despite everything offers me a maximum discount of 25 euros".

He "and many other acquaintances in Lerchenfeld" would see the behavior of Parktimes as "great cheek".

In fact, angry parkers keep coming back and have to pay their fine despite presenting a Rewe receipt.

"Not specified"

The Freisinger Tagblatt confronted the company again with the complaints of the drivers.

Parktimes then announced that, for data protection reasons, no information about the third parties involved would be given.

We will therefore not go into individual cases.

However, each case is “individually checked internally”.

The daily newspaper asked again – but there was no reply from Parktimes.
