More unemployed counted in June - but the situation on the labor market in the region is stable

The number of unemployed rose in June.
Nevertheless, the situation on the regional labor market is stable, reports the agency for Freising, Dachau, Erding and Ebersberg.
District
– The number of unemployed in the districts of Freising, Erding, Dachau and Ebersberg rose by 676 people in June 2022 to a total of 8045 women and men.
The unemployment rate thus increased – from 2.0 percent in May 2022 to a current value of 2.2 percent.
In June a year ago, the unemployment rate for the agency district was 2.0 percent, reports the employment agency.
Refugees are recorded in unemployment statistics
“The situation on the regional labor market is stable, the demand for labor has recently been at a good level – and yet the number of unemployed has risen sharply.
The reason: since June 1, refugees from Ukraine can be cared for by the local job centers and receive basic security benefits.
Previously, they received payments from the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act.
With this change of responsibility, Ukrainians are now also included in the unemployment statistics,” explains Nikolaus Windisch, head of the Freising Employment Agency.
