The Planegg-Krailling music school goes bankrupt.

The municipalities cut their subsidies, so that the teachers can no longer be paid.

Würmtal

– The music school Planegg-Krailling is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

With the anniversary year, however, many negative things will also go down in the annals.

The attempt by the communities of Planegg and Krailling to put the sponsoring association of the music school on a new footing failed for the second time on Wednesday.

The statutes presented by the municipalities were again not approved by the general assembly.

Krailling and Planegg are now taking the consequences that have been announced and approved by their local councils and are turning off the money supply.

The music school is expected to be insolvent at the end of July/beginning of August.

Legal and court costs of almost 22,000 euros

A third of the approximately 120 members appeared on Thursday for the meeting in the concert hall of the music school.

The beginning was factual, reported Mayor Rudolph Haux at a press conference on Thursday in the Krailling town hall.

The board of directors had presented its accountability and economic report and had been relieved - albeit with a narrow majority.

The main point of criticism was the legal and court costs incurred in the amount of almost 22,000 euros, said the Kraillinger councilor Imme Kaiser, who is a member of the board as an assessor.

As reported, there have been conflicts between the board and the three-member works council for months in the past, and the hiring of a piano teacher even went to court.

In the last two years, the board of directors, who work on a voluntary basis, have been "almost exclusively occupied with the dispute," said Planegg's mayor, Hermann Nafziger.

Now it's time to make a cut and a fresh start: "We finally want peace."

The dispute was primarily about passages in the association's statutes.

Planegg and Krailling wanted to change it so that the municipalities would have the say in the future.

Members, including teachers, should be made pure supporting members and lose their previous voting rights.

The statutes failed to achieve the required three-quarters majority in the general meeting at the beginning of May, which was then broken off.

Statute not approved again

The new statutes, which were put up for discussion on Wednesday, stipulated that the two municipalities each appoint three board members of the sponsoring association, and another three the members.

The statute was not rejected on Wednesday, but according to the mayors there were amendments, including those from the deputy music school director Thomas Schaffert, which also found a majority.

The review of these applications would have required further consultation with lawyers.

"That would have dragged on forever," said Imme Kaiser.

However, the adoption of the statute was a prerequisite for the communities to continue to receive funds.

payments stopped

The grants from the municipalities are now stopped.

Planegg has already paid out 80,000 euros, a further 170,000 euros will be retained for the time being, as will 150,000 euros in Krailling.

Overall, the music school finances its budget of around one million euros at 60 percent from grants, it was said in the press conference.

Due to the lack of funds, the board will apply for insolvency proceedings.

The teachers can then receive a one-time payment of insolvency money for three months.

Haux and Nafziger emphasized that they naturally wanted to keep the music school in its current form.

A new sponsoring association will therefore be set up as soon as possible.

Nafziger: "We don't want to change anything else, all teachers will be taken on."

New works council

Incidentally, the music school has now elected a completely new works council, consisting of chairpersons Frauke Schmitt, Ulrike Kramer and Günter Faithr.

Schmitt did not want to comment on the latest developments on request.
