This is good news: the burnt down boat huts on Lake Kochel are to be rebuilt.
That's what the owners are planning.
The district office still has to give the green light.
Schlehdorf – At the end of March, a fire destroyed the three picturesque boat huts on the Kochelsee in the Schlehdorf area, which are known nationally.
They were a popular photo motif in front of the mountains at any time of the year.
It is still unclear why the fire started, says press spokesman Alexander Huber from the Oberbayern-Süd police headquarters when asked by our newspaper.
"The investigation is in its final stages.
It is likely that the cause of the fire will not be able to be determined down to the smallest detail.
But one thing is certain: "There is no evidence of intentional arson," says Huber.
Ten rowboats destroyed
The huts were completely burned down in the spring.
The ten rowing boats could no longer be saved.
When the first rescue workers arrived, the boat huts were fully engulfed in flames.
During the extraordinary operation, the fire was extinguished from both land and water.
Burning flotsam even floated in the lake.
The fact that the picturesque huts burned down caused dismay throughout the region.

Mayor in conversation with owners
The good news, however, is that the three small huts are to be rebuilt.
Schlehdorf's Mayor Stefan Jocher is in contact with the ten owners who each had a boat in the well-known boathouses.
"They intend to apply for a building permit," reports Jocher when asked by our newspaper.
The water sports enthusiasts are “partly Schlehdorfer and partly former Schlehdorfer”, says the mayor.
The lake is owned by the Free State of Bavaria.
The district office has signaled that a new building will be approved if the new huts look and are the same size as the old ones.
Jocher expects that the planning application will be submitted to the municipality in the course of the summer.
The District Attorney's Office has the final say.
