“Ridiculously few comments” were received by the community.

Even nature conservation has no concerns about building a vocational school near Grafing.

The dormice found there are moving.

Grafing - Either the project was prepared by the administration in such a way that there were no longer any major contradictions, or the importance of the vocational school for the Ebersberg district is now generally recognized and accepted.

Maybe it's a mixture of both.

In any case, in the most recent building committee meeting in Grafing, there were no longer any major objections to a corresponding change in the land use plan in Grafing-Bahnhof.

And that despite the fact that the entire area for the special area of the school center and parking lot covers five hectares.

Building authority manager Josef Niedermaier informed that "ridiculously few comments" had been received.

The initial skepticism of the residents also seems to have subsided.

There was only one private statement on the mammoth project, which does not collide with the goals of state planning.

Noise protection against rail traffic

The future increase in train traffic as part of the northern approach to the Brenner Pass is taken into account in that the classrooms are all set to face west.

A protective wall is also intended to shield residents to the south of the construction project.

As part of a nature conservation study, no ground-nesting birds were observed and only “everyday species” of birds, as Niedermaier explained.

Although an occurrence of the dormouse has been discovered, it does not have to fear for its habitat because it is compensated for the loss of area by an access road elsewhere.

However, one problem had to be investigated more closely and then improved.

After a large area has been sealed for the school and the infiltration of rainwater there is not entirely unproblematic, a pond with a capacity of 2400 cubic meters is created to the north of the future vocational school.

It was originally planned to be a little smaller.

However, since the nearby "Bahngraben" has very limited drainage capacity as an outfall, the pond had to be enlarged as a buffer storage tank in order not to hydraulically overload the ditch with the accumulating water.

Building committee approved the procedure

The school buildings are to have green roofs so that they also store rainwater.

A total of 3,000 square meters of forest have to be cleared for the project.

However, the trees will be replanted elsewhere - among other things for the greening of the edges.

In the committee, all members of the building committee agreed with the course of the procedure so far.
