Pat Cipollone: ​​Capitol Attack Committee Summons Trump's Former Counsel

The investigative committee into the attack on the US Capitol has formally summoned former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone to testify.

The investigation to date has provided evidence that Cipollone "repeatedly expressed legal and other concerns" about the activities of then President Donald Trump on January 6 and in the days before: the committee said on Wednesday evening (local time) as a reason.

In a letter to Cipollone, committee chairman Bennie Thompson asked Cipollone to appear for testimony on July 6.

So far, he has only taken part in an “informal survey”.

On January 6, 2021, Trump supporters violently stormed the seat of parliament in the capital Washington.

Congress met there to certify the victory of Trump's Democratic challenger Joe Biden in the previous presidential election.

Five people were killed in the riots, including a police officer.

Trump had recently incited his supporters at a rally that his election victory had been stolen.

The committee is investigating the attack.

On Tuesday, a former White House employee caused a stir with an impressive statement to the panel.

According to Cassidy Hutchinson, Trump is said to have been aware of possible violence on January 6, 2021.

The 26-year-old said he knew the demonstrators were armed.

She also mentioned Cipollone: ​​He is said to have warned on January 3 of legal consequences if the protest is not prevented.

Other witnesses also stated that Cipollone had raised concerns about Trump's post-election actions on several occasions.
