The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the British ambassador to Moscow, Deborah Brunert, and handed her a strongly worded protest note over the aggressive statements of her country's officials against Russia and its President Vladimir Putin.
Russia Today website quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement published on its website today: The British ambassador was informed of the strong protest against the rude statements of the British leadership towards Russia, its president, representatives of the official authorities, as well as the Russian people, stressing Russia's rejection of aggressive rhetoric.
Yesterday, the Kremlin condemned the recent hostile statements of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Defense Minister Ben Wallace against Russia, indicating that they and their ilk do not solve problems, but rather create them.
Earlier, a number of British officials made hostile statements against the Russian president, in line with their country's anti-Moscow stances and Russia's right to defend its security in the face of threats from Western countries.
