Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Alexander Venediktov described the West's freezing of Russian assets as one of the greatest thefts in history.

"The irony is that the organizers of this robbery are the same ones who in the past bore the responsibility for maintaining the global economic structure, and this situation is like a fox in charge of a chicken coop," Venediktov said in a statement to RIA Novosti.

"What is the unique thing that distinguishes the Americans, the British and their allies from others, which gives them the right to rule over the rest of humanity... In principle, they have nothing but arrogance, bravado and treachery, and only here lies their distinction," Venediktov asked.

"While other nations and peoples strive to advance on their original paths, the United States and other nations of the collective West live at the expense of others and plan to continue to live in this way," Venediktov said.

The Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council stressed that all the mechanisms, formulas and blocks that the West puts in place are aimed at stealing resources from weaker countries, and NATO is a good example of that because it places in the forefront of its activities the interests of the American military industry complex and has played over the past years on the alleged threat from Russia in order to increase The richness of this complex.

Venediktov pointed out that the capital, Madrid, witnessed another chapter of this boring play, and the NATO leaders summit in Madrid adopted a new strategic concept for the alliance, in which Russia was described as the most important and direct threat.
