The Herrschinger police arrested a 43-year-old man who is suspected of having attempted to break into a bike shop in Grafrath.

He may also be considered for burglaries in Starnberg, Inning and Herrsching.

District – But someone shot himself in the knee.

The Herrsching police arrested a 43-year-old man who is an urgent suspect of breaking into a bicycle shop in Grafrath (district of Fürstenfeldbruck).

The Fürstenfeldbruck criminal police are now trying to find out to what extent the man has been responsible for burglaries in specialist shops in Starnberg, Inning and Herrsching since November last year.

The officials had not least come on the trail of the 43-year-old because the man had reported himself to the Herrschinger office.

He is now in custody, confirms Michael Graf from the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North to Starnberger Merkur.

The suspect goes to the police in Herrsching himself

On Thursday, three weeks ago, June 9th, events came to a head.

Around 2.35 a.m. the window of a bicycle shop on Jesenwanger Straße in Grafrath was smashed.

Obviously the burglar or burglars were disturbed.

At least nothing is known of a loot.

The perpetrators fled, an immediately initiated search was unsuccessful.

Five hours later, around 7:30 a.m., a local resident called the police.

He said there was an unlocked van in his parking lot not far from the bike shop.

Officers from Herrsching looked at the Mercedes Sprinter and then had a towing company tow it to the inspection yard on Rieder Strasse - to secure it, as it was unlocked, but also to secure it, as it was related to the previous one Attempted break-in could not be ruled out.

Damage from burglaries over 100,000 euros

Another four hours later, at around 11.45 a.m., the 43-year-old man appeared at the Herrsching police station out of the blue.

"The Polish citizen wanted to report a van he had rented as stolen," reports Chief Inspector Graf.

Apparently he wanted to lead the officers on the wrong track with this robber's pistol.

However, he got caught up in contradictions.

"After involvement in the crime could not be ruled out, he was arrested," explains the spokesman.

"At the request of the Munich II public prosecutor's office, the 43-year-old was brought before a magistrate and has been in custody ever since." According to information from Starnberger Merkur, the arrest warrant was issued because of the risk of escape and collusion.

Now the Kripo has taken over the investigation, also as far as possible accomplices and other crimes are concerned.

The burglaries in Starnberg in mid-November, in Inning in early April and in Herrsching in early May caused damage totaling more than 100,000 euros.

In Herrsching alone, nine high-quality bicycles were stolen.
