The charm and the bucolic calm immortalized by the painter Jean-Baptiste Corot, in the 19th century, seem far away in the eyes of the residents of the Corot ponds.
The latter no longer hide their fed up with the nuisances and incivilities around the famous ponds managed by the Center for National Monuments (CMN) and whose controversial rehabilitation work has been at a standstill for more than a year.
At the origin of their exasperation: young people diving into the ponds on sunny days when swimming is prohibited there, rodeos on the roads and the dikes bordering the ponds, barbecues and even deal.
