They have delighted the critics of Le Figaro and are played in Paris, the best pieces of the moment are unveiled here. Follow the leader !

"Titanic, the crazy crossing" at the Théâtre de la Renaissance

It is to be mistaken, one could believe oneself in the Hall of the Theater of the Renaissance ready to embark on the steamer of legend.

Luggage, captain and musicians welcome spectators who come to immerse themselves in the tragic history of the Titanic.

Where James Cameron's famous drama depicted the loves of two early 20th century Romeos and Juliets, the tone is quite different at the Théâtre de la Renaissance.

The play, under the pen and direction of Axel Drhey, borrows as much from eccentric comedy as from musical comedy, without forgetting a touch of drama inseparable from the news item with which this story is associated.

The Iceberg is there, and it is indeed the same tragic end that awaits the passengers of the ship of the seas but this time revisited with a refreshing tragicomic tone.

"The Twilight of the Monkeys" at the Vieux Colombier

In this play where two masters of writing meet, Molière on one side and the Russian author Bulgakov on the other, we are far from any relationship with reality.

One comes from the 17th century, the other from the 20th century, and yet the two offer perfectly improbable encounters in successive scenes.

They discuss the subjects that animate them: the relationship to power (the Sun King for one and Stalin for the other), women but also their states of mind as authors.

Written by Alison Cosson and Louise Vignaud, this fable in costumes shows what theater can be too, a game of the mind and a pure product of the imagination.

"The Twilight of the Monkeys", until July 10, at the Vieux Colombier (Paris 6th).

"Weber, Molière, Marthouret" at the Théâtre de Poche

Seated at a table on which sit cups of coffee and glasses of water, Jacques Weber and François Marthouret take their places while continuing their discussion.

The two friends exchange again and again, and what else could they be talking about than Molière?

Everything about them is so fascinating, the two almost forget that the eyes of the spectators who have come to attend this quasi-improvisation show that the two maestros are offering are riveted on them.

When one reads verses, the other listens attentively before interacting, commenting.

All references to classical theater pass there, those more contemporary too.

And at the end of the performance, it is finally a nice accomplice contest that the visitors of this Monday evening will have had the chance to attend.

"Paris the great" at the Lucernaire

There you have it, a Parisian titi as we like them, crazy about his capital and his heritage.

Philippe Meyer, the journalist in love with sound and music, attests to this in his famous program "The next time I will sing it to you" which aired every Sunday morning on France Inter, returns in a show-discussion in Paris.

After his previous show My radio, love story, he tackles the capital.

It inspired its author this show in songs as before him, his previous servants poets, authors, musicians who have in one way or another paid homage to him.

Only accompanied by his accordionist, Philippe Meyer recounts Paris as he fantasizes about it but also as he lives it.

His memories and his regrets, by summoning the great classics of Paris described and sung from Frehel to Marcel Aymé, from Sartre to Piaf.

“Paris la Grande”, until August 21, at the Lucernaire (Paris 6th).

"Jean-Baptiste, Madeleine, Armande and the others" at the Comédie Française

Behind the scenes of Molière, the reality behind the drawn curtains, this is what this piece proposes to study.

Like a series on the underside of the master's life, we see the daily life of a Jean-Baptiste Poquelin busy maintaining the esteem in which the king holds him, managing the tribulations of the actors in his troupe or still wondering about how a play is written.

Recently married to Armande Béjart, she and a whole band of characters gravitate around him and participate directly or indirectly in his success at the time of the École des femmes played at the Palais Royal.

We thus surprise moments of life, doubt and disagreement between these characters far from the splendor and the seriousness of the theatrical representation.

An original and unexpected way of dealing with the “Molière subject”.
