The topics of the cultural festival held by the Damascus branch of the Arab Writers Union focused on resistance literature and patriotism and defending it in various literary forms, including story and poetry, with the participation of a number of poets and storytellers.

The forms in the poetic texts varied between the activation and the two halves, and rose to the level of connotation and suggestion in an artistic style through which poets expressed the value of the homeland and the importance of its love.

And the poet Dr. Yassin Faour, in his patriotic texts, which he delivered, showed the value of struggle and martyrdom, in which he adopted the poetry of the activator, while the poet Muhammad Saeed Al-Ateeq participated in texts that mixed between love of the homeland and human and social values ​​in a symbolic style, while the poems of the poet Suleiman Al-Salman were limited to the resistance poetry in the style of the two halves.

In her poems, the poet Amal Al-Manawer combined the love of the homeland with the sentimental sentiment, while the young poet Ahmed Al-Hussein pointed out, through his poetic texts, the importance of resistance for the sake of the dignity of the homeland.

In the field of story, the writers Bashar Boutros, Muhammad Ahmad Taher, Ghassan Hourania and Ayman Al-Hassan participated in a number of stories that varied between forms of flash, objective balance, and commitment to the foundations of storytelling and its art, in order to express the status of the homeland in the story as well as poetry and the need to defend it.

Critic Ahmed Hilal, who managed the festival, said that the texts that were delivered varied using the styles of vertical poems, activating and free, and they approached a non-technical level with a lyrical spirit and a beautiful language within an atmosphere that celebrates poetry and life literature.

While some texts, according to critic Hilal, were examples of stories that depended on modern poetry and the concept of resistance literature.

Dr. Ibrahim Zaarour, head of the Damascus branch of the Writers Union, pointed out the importance of these festivals, which express what the Syrians carry in their hearts for their homeland and what the Syrian people can do if they are subjected to oppression, indicating that the Damascus Book Branch will continue its role in activating resistance literature.

The festival was attended by the Vice-President of the Arab Writers Union, Tawfiq Ahmed, a number of members of the union, and a crowd of writers, writers and interested people.
