Decades in the days of pride I experience an absurd reality, I would say schizophrenic.
My Israeli half-lobe enjoys raising awareness, promoting rights and positive tidal figures - everything the media and reality around me offer me at Pride.
At exactly the same time, my other half, the Russian lobe, is attacked with ignorance and homophobia of exactly the same intensities - from everywhere possible.
This paradox is hard to explain, like a swelling on the shoulder along with a punch to the middle of the chest.
As the years go by I understand less why my generation with a hybrid identity and progressive opinions like mine, let this happen.
Among them are those responsible for the Russian-language media in Israel, which I would expect them to align with the achievements of Israeli society on the subject of tobacco.
So where does cultural uniqueness end and aggression and blatant violation of individual gains begin, and is there a chance for change?
Perhaps the statement "in their culture this is how it is accepted" is precisely an expression of condescension over other cultures also when it comes to women's and children's rights, domestic violence and patriarchal values.
In Pride Month, the media in the Russian language, in the country and in Russia itself, is buzzing and bubbling.
In the diverse Russian-speaking sector in Israel, there are conflicts over the legitimacy of the Pride Parade ("What should we be proud of?") And parenting for the UAV ("How do you let them raise children").
There is an important debate among the Israeli media in the Dostoevsky language: "LGBT - for and against." It is frustrating to see that a significant number of media people tend to confuse pedophilia, zoophilia and homosexuality.
Many immigrants feed on Russian media outlets that serve the regime, in which brainwashing is conducted against "Western values contrary to traditional values."
The same media explain that in order to become a LGBT person, it is enough for a minor to simply be exposed to other LGBT people.
There one is allowed to laugh and say that it probably passes through the air like a bacterium.
The current Russian regime seems to have engraved on its banner the purge of the people from the TBK. This is worrying.
Here is another example.
Russian propaganda in the context of the invasion of Ukraine included the following explanation: "We can not abandon our brothers in Donetsk and Luhansk to Ukrainian benevolent Nazis who intended to pass the Pride Parades and pollute the soft children. The people must be saved."
Worse, in one of the big brother-style reality shows called "Find the Gay" they increased to do and the "expert" (who happens to be a Pervoslav Christian cleric and celeb, the most famous homophobe in Russia) should ... yes you were right, identify the "gay".
Sublime I understand who are the homosexuals who are willing to participate in such a shocking program that is the epitome of modern "bread and amusement."
The Russian media in Israel can also find toxic propaganda against LGBT people and others. In recent days, an article was published on the Israeli Channel 9 website covering the Pride Parade in a condescending and derogatory tone. He wrote, "Exactly they participated in the defense of the parade and how those animals were supposed to help - not understood." .
The article also received responses such as: "I do have brain damage, I wish they would sit quietly that no one knew about their illness."
A study conducted for the Government Advertising Bureau for the purpose of extending the concession, found that Channel 9 is the most watched channel among the immigrant population of the Commonwealth of Independent States, with 51% viewing - a considerable gap over the other Russian-speaking channels received by cable and satellite broadcasters in Israel.
The channel that was designed and could have been a bridge when it comes to mentality gaps, does the complete opposite.
Cheap populism like this, preserves the people of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the medieval consciousness - but harms the future of us all.
After all, these are our parents, in which the TBKs from the Commonwealth of Independent States are older or new immigrants.
Dealing with Israeli media channels in Russia that decide to align with the Russian media - gnaws and hurts every time.
I'm not willing to hear more "that's how it is in their culture".
This is a matter for all of us, for all of Israeli society.
Where are the people who are supposed to deal with racism in Israeli society?
I call on you and your readers to mobilize and shake off such phenomena.
Help us to draw a line when it comes to freedom and the dignity of the individual in any language, so that the channels of communication in Russian in Israel will understand that there is zero tolerance and no legitimacy for hatred.
