The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that a US hypersonic missile test failed due to a launch problem.
And the agency (Bloomberg) quoted Tim Gorman, a Pentagon spokesman, as saying that “the missile test-fire took place in Hawaii, and the failure occurred after the engine was turned on.”
This test is the second failed attempt within the "traditional rapid strike" project, after the efforts of the workers on the previous missile failed to launch it last October.
Last May, the US Air Force conducted a test of a hypersonic cruise missile, which was launched from the southern coast of California, with a speed of five times the speed of sound.
