This June 28 marks one month since the arrival of monkeypox in Mexico.
According to health authorities, nine cases have been reported in the country since then, four in Mexico City and five in Jalisco.
It is in this last state, in western Mexico, where the University of Guadalajara set up a laboratory to process detection tests in case it is eventually necessary.
