The Hohenfreyberg castle ruins attract tourists and visitors.
A vacationer from the USA now said he had caught a thief in the act.
But he was wrong about that.
Eisenberg – A curious criminal story happened on Wednesday evening, June 29, in the Ostallgäu district.
At the well-known castle ruins of Hohenfreyberg, near the municipality of Eisenberg, a vacationer observed a man tampering with the donation box and then driving away.
He alerted the police, who immediately set off.

In any case, the head of the town hall, Manfred Kössel, took the investigation with humor.
According to the officials, he explained that he kept cycling past the ruins of the castle and then took the money from the donation box with him.
With that, the short detective career of the American tourist came to an end.
At least it should cause a few laughs at home.
