How involved was Donald Trump in the storming of the Capitol?

A committee of inquiry should clarify this.

A witness reports Trump freaks out.

Washington, DC - January 6, 2021 is considered the inglorious end of the Trump presidency.

Supporters of the voted Republican stormed the Capitol, where Joe Biden was to be formally confirmed as Trump's successor by the US Congress.

The riots left dead and injured.

An investigative committee of the House of Representatives is to clarify the events in September.

The question of Donald Trump's possible responsibility is also crucial.

On Tuesday (June 28, local time), a former employee described how Trump behaved on January 6, as she recalls.

Cassidy Hutchinson, once an assistant to Trump's chief of staff Mark Meadows, provided previously unseen insight while making Trump look anything but good.

The then incumbent US President seems to have at least accepted an attempted coup.

Trump freaks out when storming the Capitol?

"I'm the fucking president"

Trump apparently wanted to be part of the actions at the Capitol.

After a speech to his supporters, Trump got into his car, Hutchinson said.

However, the Secret Service bodyguards, concerned about safety, refused to drive the President to the Capitol.

Trump then tried to snatch the steering wheel from the driver of his presidential limousine.

Trump freaked out, even tried to choke a bodyguard.

"I'm the damn President, take me to the Capitol," Trump said, according to Hutchinson.

Trump himself responded to the allegations on his own social media platform Truth while the testimonies were still being given.

He "hardly knows" Hutchinson.

She is a swindler and a swindler.

However, Hutchinson revealed even more – including potentially legally relevant information.

Storming the Capitol: Trump apparently knew of the impending violence

According to Hutchinson, Trump's advisors advised the president not to drive to the angry mob in front of the Capitol.

But Trump apparently wanted the escalation.

On the morning of January 6, there were several police reports to the White House that armed Trump supporters were in town.

With knives and pistols.

Trump ignored the reports.

His security advisers needn't worry.

"You're not here to hurt me." Trump could have been clear that there could be outbreaks of violence.

Trump could be prosecuted as a result.

That's what Trump's legal advisors feared before the storming of the Capitol.

"Please, we can't go to the Capitol," Chief Counsel Pat Cipollone reportedly said.

"We will be prosecuted for all sorts of crimes."

Hutchinson also reported that before January 6, 2021, Trump and his followers were aware that violence could occur.

There have been several warnings from the security authorities that went directly to Meadows and that Trump was also informed about, Hutchinson said.

In doing so, she contradicted the Trump camp's view that the storming of the Capitol was spontaneous and that the outgoing government had nothing to do with it.

Rather, according to Hutchinson, Trump said four days before the events: "Things can get really, really

bad on January 6.
