Two million saved: elementary school also moves into the Egmatinger town hall

Because the town hall is too big anyway, the municipality of Egmating is now making the rooms in the basement, ground floor and upper floor available for the after-school care center and primary school.

Egmating - The current accommodation of the after-school care center in the new town hall in Egmating will remain in place.

This was decided unanimously by the Egmatinger municipal council in the meeting on Tuesday evening.

The building, which is already considered to be partly oversized, can continue to be of use to children and adults.

In July last year, the municipal council agreed that the rooms in the basement and the council chamber of the new town hall could be used temporarily as after-school care for the school children.

The company had already been relocated in September.

Municipal Council Egmating: Hort can stay, elementary school can also move in

In the most recent meeting, a proposal by Egmating's mayor Inge Heiler (ABE) for the long-term use of the rooms in the basement and ground floor of the new town hall as a day care center was discussed.

The result: In addition to the after-school care children, rooms from the primary school are now also to be accommodated in the new town hall.

This would speed up the demolition of the old town hall and enable the community to continue work on the school building, which is to be extended towards the street where the old town hall now stands.

Egmating: Municipal office moves to the top floor

The new planning envisages accommodating the after-school care center in the basement and ground floor of the new building.

The primary school is to move into the first floor during the renovation and construction work on the school building.

The chancellery of the town hall itself is to move permanently into the rooms on the top floor.

Previously, a new building of the after-school care center on the site south of the town hall had also been discussed.

However, it would cost almost two million.

However, because there is enough space available in the large town hall, Mayor Heiler explained at the municipal council meeting on Tuesday, that by accommodating the after-school care center there, a new building can be avoided.

The millions estimated for the new building could flow into the renovation of the school.

Municipality of Egmating: 50,000 euros for the move

The funds provided for the 2022 budget, which the municipal office would have available for its move to the top floor, amount to 50,000 euros.

"But that's really generous," says Heiler.

"I don't think we need that!" Blinds, a few shelves, new phones, led them.

But: "From the outside we have to be creative so that the town hall can be recognized as such."

Even before the mayor's application was voted on, Michael Egerland (non-attached) withdrew his application, which should have been discussed afterwards: "Because obsolete", was his reasoning.

The core message of his application would have been to prefer the school renovation to a new after-school care center building.

"But if we don't build a new after-school care center, there's no need to apply."

Egmating: Approval from the municipal council

The rest of the council also agreed.

Uschi Breithaupt (ABE) was pleased that "our main concern, namely that this unfortunate construct should come to an end", will soon become reality.

What is meant is the spatial separation of the after-school care groups, which currently still exists, explains Andreas Riedl, Second Mayor (ABE), on the phone.

"That's a bit unfortunate," he says, because one group is in the old after-school care rooms, the other in the new town hall.

It is also a personal challenge.

"That's why it's obviously better when they're together again," says Riedl.

There are already proposals for the renovation and the planned extension of the school, Heiler explained in conclusion on Tuesday.

"We'll sit down with the architect and find the best one," she promised.
