Young Miqdam Al-Maidi from As-Suwayda Governorate translated his interests in poetry, his love for reading, and his love for the Arabic language since his childhood, with distinction in the field of literature, through which he drew attention in the various occasions and events in which he participated.

The young man Al-Maidi told, during his talk to the correspondent of the SANA Youth Bulletin, how he managed to memorize about 6800 verses of ancient and modern poetry, compose 50 poems of Al-Tafilah poetry and present them in many activities on behalf of the Revolutionary Youth Union, while also joining literary groups on social networking sites to show what he has in this the field.

Al-Moaidi, 18 years old, pointed out the extent to which he was influenced by the poet Al-Mutanabbi and his literary style, and he memorized many of his poems, the poems of Imru’ al-Qays, Antara bin Shaddad, Amr Ibn Kulthum and other great poets, and his deepening in them, up to Omar Abu Risha, Gibran Khalil Gibran, Michael Naima and Elia Abu Madi.

Al-Muaidi, who previously won the second place in the reading marathon competitions at the level of Syria and the tongue of the enemy at the governorate level, confirmed that poetry is fun for him and is inspired by wisdom and linguistic stock, especially for the pre-Islamic ones, as he reminds through him of the importance of the Arabic language in our lives and the expression of our civilized message.

Al-Ma’idi, who receives support and encouragement from his family and the Youth League in his town of Al-Quraya, aspires to expand further in the field of poetry in particular and literature in general, and pay attention to cultural and cognitive aspects in order to be a well-known poet, emphasizing the correct values ​​and behaviors that young people must represent in parallel with his academic aspirations to study petroleum engineering.
