Take out flip flops and sunscreen, deckchairs and beach towels, idleness is making a comeback in the capital!

From Saturday July 9 and until Sunday August 21, the traditional Paris-Plages returns to its two main sites, the Parc Rives de Seine and the quays of the Bassin de la Villette, as well as to various places in the capital to remind Parisians with good memories of summer.

After two years prevented by the health crisis linked to Covid-19, the Paris City Hall announces “an edition finally without hindrances”.

If the two sites of Paris Center and the 19th arrondissement will invite you to travel with their sands and their parasols, a number of other fun, cultural and sporting activities will be in the spotlight.

Thus, the traditional swimming pools will be offered in the sports centers Léo-Lagrange (12th century), Louis-Lumière (20th century) and at the Carpentier stadium (13th century).

Five mysterious “ephemeral swims” on the program

On the Rives de Seine side, exhibitions, tai-chi or Swedish gym classes, a toy library and an outside library will be accessible to everyone, and above all free of charge.

To promote a change of scenery, the City also promises "extensive vegetation in leisure and relaxation areas", which will show "more palm trees, more mulberry trees, new misting areas integrating more greenery".

The Bassin de la Villette will find its water sports - canoeing, kayak polo, stand up paddle, pedal boats, pedal boat bicycles, Hawaiian canoes and small boats for the little ones.

Around the Quai de la Loire, table football, pétanque and taï-chi activities will join the party.

For the little ones, climbing sessions, trampolines and activities for 3-7 year olds will flourish throughout this period.

class will also take place every Sunday from 10 am to 12 noon.

The holding of "five ephemeral summer swims" is finally one of the great novelties of this edition - "if all the conditions are met", warns the organization, which for the time being does not give further details on these activities.

Patience, patience… Contacted, the Paris City Hall informs us that a list of sites and activities will be available at the beginning of next week.
