Air bombs near Günzburg: The A8 is closed again

As a week ago, a bomb was found near an industrial area near Günzburg.

This time even two aircraft bombs, residues from the Second World War, were found during soil investigations.

According to the police, the nature of the bombs forces them to be detonated and they cannot be defused.

The area around the detonation of the World War II bombs is blocked off extensively.

From 9 a.m. on Thursday, no one is allowed to remain in the 500-meter exclusion zone created in this way.

Through traffic on the nearby A8 should be diverted between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Bombing near Günzburg: A8 closed

The detonation of the aerial bomb from last week went as planned, the blocking of the A8 and the evacuation of Legoland were lifted around noon as announced.

The closure of the important autobahn, which connects Munich and Stuttgart in this section, had of course already had an impact on traffic.

This week, too, longer waiting times or at least slow traffic are to be expected.

If you can, avoid the area in the east of Bavaria better in the morning.
