The Vice President of the Valencian Government, Aitana Mas, made her debut this Friday as Consell spokesperson at the press conference after the plenary meeting held in Benicàssim (Castellón), on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Statute.
In her appearance, Mas has asked for time to know all the information about the file opened in the Ministry of Equality, for which she is also responsible, for the case of abuse by the ex-husband of her predecessor, Mónica Oltra, to a minor in care.
It will be from then on when she decides what to do with the general director of Children, charged in the case, on which the PP has now set its sights and for which she demands her resignation.
The vice president of the Consell has considered it "reckless" to make decisions "on the first day" that she is in office both about possible changes in this department and about the dismissal or not of the director general of Children.
But she has pointed out that she has not yet had time to analyze the situation and for her it is important to make the decisions that correspond "with all the information."
“I need more time”, she has affirmed before responding that she has “her hands free” to make the decision she considers.
The head of the court number 15 of Valencia, which instructs the case, charged 13 charges from the Ministry of Equality and the center where the abuses occurred for the opening of an information file in what he considers could have been a parallel investigation to the court to protect the aggressor or even the political career of Oltra herself.
A general director, a deputy general director, a territorial secretary, a head of service and a technician will be the positions that will have to give a statement by the court that, previously, already charged six positions of the Ministry in addition to the director and a psychologist of the Niño Jesús juvenile reception center, where the events occurred between 2017 and 2017.
Mas has stated that, despite his incorporation, the government of the Botánico does not change its challenges but that, in any case, it will promote the stability of the progressive pact because it is part of its way of working and functioning.
Thus he has pointed out that, for his part, the idea of "building bridges" and maintaining "the best possible relationship between the three forces" that make up the Consell is guaranteed.
"We have a guide that is the Botànic agreement, to which new challenges are now added given the current economic situation, with skyrocketing prices and many families who have serious difficulties in carrying out their daily, everyday, normal life," he indicated. .

The vice president has been in favor of repeating the formula of negotiating the budgets in a political commission with the presence of the three government partners.
She has indicated that she has spoken with the Treasury Minister, Arcadi Spain, and they have agreed to hold a meeting soon to discuss the 2023 accounts, the last of the legislature.
For Mas, the most important thing, as he has said, is to sit down and talk about what they want for this final stretch of the legislature, about the new challenges they face, and he believes it is important to mark the times and establish what policies they want to carry out in the next months.
