A native of Coventry, this 73-year-old Englishman is preparing to become a priest this Sunday alongside… his wife Rosemary, with the consent of Pope Francis.
Father of a son in his thirties, this married man will receive the sacrament from the bishop of Angoulême (Charente), Hervé Gosselin, in the church of Montmoreau, a village of 2,550 inhabitants where the couple has settled permanently since 2014. Former priest Anglican, Stephen Raine will have exercised his ministry in the Church of England for nearly three decades, before leaving and joining France.
