Resistance stirs in Russia: arson attacks on government buildings

There are arson attacks by unknown persons in several cities in Russia.
Attacks on pro-Russian officials are also increasing in Ukraine.
Nizhny Novgorod - In the central Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod, there has apparently been an attack on a government building.
As the Russian online news portal
Baza
reports, a previously unknown man is said to have thrown a Molotov cocktail at the office of the Federal Security Service (FSB) on Thursday (June 30) before fleeing the scene.
In addition, according to

, four Molotov cocktails were thrown into the office of the military commissariat of the Kirovsky district in Perm, the easternmost megacity in Europe, last week.
As in Nizhny Novgorod, no fire developed - here too the perpetrators fled.
The attacks are to be seen as a protest against the Ukraine war, especially in view of the recent past: fires in government and military buildings across Russia have been reported several times in recent months.
In addition, according to

, at least 10 recruiting offices have been attacked since the war began on February 24.

reports, a resistance movement is also developing in occupied southern Ukraine.
According to US information, there have been three attempts to assassinate pro-Russian officials in the past two weeks alone.
The resistance could expand into a broader counterinsurgency, according to several US officials.
So far, the movement has focused on the city of Cherson.
However, if the assessment proves to be correct and resistance causes difficulties, this could seriously jeopardize Moscow's ability to keep newly conquered territories under control - and provoke further resistance in Russia and Ukraine.
