Election to mayor: The candidate of the Brucker citizens' association is practically certain

It's not really formal or official.
But the direction is clear: The Brucker Bürgervereinigung (BBV) will enter the race for the mayor's office with a candidate in March 2023 - and the city councilor Christian Götz wants to run.
Fürstenfeldbruck - "I will make myself available," said Christian Götz at the general meeting.
And the present members of the BBV approved the announced candidacy unanimously.
BBV chairman Klaus Quinten, however, pointed out: "First of all, the nomination as a candidate." Götz will be officially chosen as such at another meeting, which is expected to take place in October.
Election to the Brucker OB: "Realistic basis"
"We have a good chance," explained Christian Götz.
His candidacy has a realistic basis.
In this context he also referred to Klaus Pleil.
He was elected mayor in 2014, but suffered a heart attack in August 2015 and was consequently no longer able to attend to official business.

Pleil brought new impetus to the administration and laid a good track.
He wants to build on that, says Götz.
He also wants to contribute his experience as deputy mayor between 2017 and 2020, as well as that as the current construction and planning officer.
"I got a lot of valuable impressions there," he said to the BBV members.
Office of Brucker OB: Much respect
He is aware that the office of mayor is another house number, says Götz.
"I treat it with a lot of respect, but I've lost my great fear of it." The decision to compete was initially made within the family.
He also held talks with other mayors.
In doing so, he found that the activity in the first responsible position could be quite demanding in terms of health.
A consequence that Götz draws from this: "I will definitely not conduct a long-term election campaign and will start doing so now." Working with a crowbar, including on one's own publicity, is out of the question for him.
Election to the Brucker OB: The Amper
Götz did not name campaign issues directly.
He will do that at the earliest at the meeting in autumn.
However, the general meeting discussed in great detail the cleanliness of the Amper and possible bathing opportunities in the water.
Götz took this as an opportunity to indirectly criticize the incumbent Mayor Erich Raff: "The head of administration already determines the priority of action, if he wants to."

In the coming year, not only the city of Fürstenfeldbruck will possibly get a new leadership, but also the BBV.
Klaus Quinten indicated that he would no longer be running for office next year for reasons of age.
"Think about new people at our helm," he called out to the members.
Götz will have to compete with at least seven other candidates in the election on March 5, 2023 - only the mayor will be re-determined, not the city council, although not all groups or parties have already broken cover.
It is to be expected that Alexa Zierl (ÖDP) and Markus Droth (FW) will also apply – as well as Adrian Best (Linke) and Joe Kellerer (Die Party).
